Mad Max: Fury Road Nux Sketch Card

Just a warm up sketch to get loose and play around with some different marker techniques! Mad Max was a pleasant surprise for me and I decided Nux would be fun to doodle since I rarely draw bald characters! More focused on technique over actual likeness so I might try this one again Definitely need to do a version a bit more "mad")!

Thirty-One Social Media Posts

Just wanted to post a few of the social media posts I did for Thirty-One Gifts this year! I most enjoyed created the Roy Goodman quote post because I got to concept from scratch. :)

Angry Brows

Just wanted to upload a couple reptilian race designs I have been drawing recently. I am struggling with getting these guys to have some expression other than serious angry brow...

Belairus Redesign - Young Portrait

Ok so this is the beginnings of character redesign #2. He's from the same world as Desius who was in my last post. This is a young version of a satyr character, Balairus. He will eventually look look like a male…eventually. It's the jaw that really set him up for failure I think. OH YEAH AND THAT HAIR.

Still trying to get back into the swing of things and not cringe at everything I draw!

Desius Redesign - Peasant Sketch

So I debated even posting this yet... But I feel like I have to post it so it pushes me to progress.
Just a redesign sketch of a character almost 10 years in the making. Obviously fantasy has had an impact on me! Desius is a muse of mine created back in 2005 that I am now picking back up for development purposes. More to come in the near future.

Nationwide Items September-October 2013

Double update!

So I take no claim that these are original or exiting...BUT. These are a couple of the things I currently am doing for Nationwide Insurance. They are pretty strict about branding and such, but I do what I must. :)

Top:
Postcard to pass out at career fairs.

Bottom: Signature Graphic and t-shirt design for the internal Enterprise Architecture group. I literally only had hours to make both. @__@

The Littlest Pet Shop Designs-Scottie and Owl

Finally I can add a few more Hasbro related designs to my gallery! So the Scottish terrier was a rough sketch passed along to me that I got to explore further and develop a new hairstyle for as well as create the final illustration and character turnaround. I really loved working on this one. :)

The owl was a complete redesign that I did from scratch, starting with character exploration (I did a ton) and then final character illustration/pose and turn around. Apparently they ended up going with the sketch pose in the end though. I did not come up with the color palette though...

I now officially own both of these toys thanks to the wonder that is ebay! :)

It's Not Easy Being Green

Finished this portrait this morning- more of a doodle gone color study than anything else I guess! I loved exploring the color palette and playing with the lighting (whether it was successful or not!). :)
Anyway, this is a concept for a character I've been working on for a while...An early study actually, but there was something about that doodle I just can't seem to get past.

Random Sketches and a WIP

Just a little bit of random (like me)! Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, and a monster walk into a bar...yeah no, I really just was doing warm up sketches! And the top image in my current WIP- first time using my new Yiyanova tablet and I'm enjoying it, but playing around with it and taking it slow.

New Business Cards!

UPDATE: Wanted to show off the alternative colors for the front that I created. This really was a fun portrait in which I focused on experimenting with color. It's really interesting to me to see how color really affects our perception of a character (or person, place, thing, etc).

Just a little re-branding taking place! Getting ready for my trip to Illuxcon so I wanted to have something in hand...JUST IN CASE..
