Vector art is such a slow process...and I'm a slow artist. So this probably isn't a good thing for me! Oh well, closing on only a handful of days until Mid Ohio Con so I'm working as it!
I always wanted to do a Nightcrawler piece...and have smoke-LOTS OF PURPLE SMOKE.YES.

Bonsoir

Wow so I haven't posted here in FOREVER. Dang. Well I mean all the stuff I've made in the past 3-4 months has been for Hasbro and therefore-a secret!
So this is for Mid-Ohio Con and I decided to I wanted to vectorize the cajun to begin with! Apparently a lot of people love Gambit out of all the X-Men. Hey-I can't complain! I had a lot of fun and problem solving/challenge in getting this "done".
Tell me what ya'll think!

A Portrait of Death

Yes...I need to work on my painting techniques...I'm so out of practice. This was my portrait concept for the word "death". I looked into different cultures' symbols for death and animal symbolism as well. It's about 11"x14" and on wood. It looks better in person honestly.
For marker concepts refer to the link below:

The Painted Elephant

Well...so THIS is for Fashion Illustration...but is really straying from the fashion emphasis I think. O well! I was experimenting a bit with going back and forth between Illustrator and Photoshop. Because I'm not very good at that. This is a semi-final. I have to adjust a few things on the background. Eventually.
The point was to create an outfit based off of India fashion. Illustration students were allowed to do something more in their realm though. :)

This Font Size Scares Me.

So...I gotta keep making art and posting here. The end of school is quickly approaching and I got to keep motivated...
I like doing my Children's book because it's a more simplistic style and I get more freedom to exaggerate color/value/etc... But anyway, I am trying to get a mock up of this book together for Directions. I don't want to be a Children's Book artist exactly but...well I just want to write stories and draw. Guess that's all that really matters to me.
Anyway, enjoy all!
p.s.-That font size scares me but Boley told me it would be awesome this way. HAHA.

Dream a Little

Aka Creepy Me. I had to do a self-portrait for my paiting class and since I have not touched watercolors in like the last 2 years...I just decided to have fun and play with them. And I KNOW I messed some spots,oh my family made it very clear even after I told them...But this isn't going anywhere near my portfolio, no worries.
It was supposed to to be a illustrative version of me...being...whimsical.And daydreaming of course-because that's what I'm always doing. ;)

All the Swings

What happened to the days I used to draw men exclusively? Why so many women??? Ah well...Art Nouveau is fabulous. This is the set I made for my Fashion Illustration class. I have a turnaround due for my favorite one next week. Which one shall I choose???

Growing Gardens to Die For.

An assignment I played with for my Illustrator Graphics class. My teacher said I didn't work at all on my sketch (which was a ridiculous accusation)...so hopefully he likes the final product. We had to design our own "Burpee's" seed packet for a carnivorous plant. Art Nouveau = win. And yes, my tagline DOES end in a preposition. Forbidden rule broken!

Update for Jeanette

Since I think Jeanette really is the only one who pays attention to my blog and she scolded me for not updating recently...here you go! 2/4 illustrations I have done for Fashion. We had to research museum pieces and create a mood board...These were inspired by Alphonse Mucha's art nouveau style.
And these are more costume pieces then actual fashion...yeah.

Concept Project 1: Emotions Lineart

(Don't you like my logo placement?)

Still dealing with the flu so I'll keep this short. Created this preliminary line art for my "simple portraits" series. This is my interpretation of the concept that is "emotions" which is the basis category for hundreds of other conceptual words. I looked into the symbolism behind emotions including animal, elemental, and my own thoughts on what is encompassed in emotion" and put it into this piece. Corrections will be made anatomically (you can see areas without distinct line) and more symbolism will probably be added later on. I'll be painting this traditionally-media pending.
Give me your thoughts and enjoy!

Symbolism Studies

Just some black and white marker drawings of a symbolism project I'm working on in my advanced painting class. You can definitely see where the marker started to die on me. Tell me what you all think!

Toy Design Beginnings.

Sooo...this is all for my attempt to have a chance at the Hasbro Internship offered in the Spring at CCAD. I'm still tweaking things and such but I am glad at what has been turned out so far. Since it is for a toy design, I just a simple color palette for the quick paint mock-up.

I'm glad I decided to do a monster race instead of going with what I think everybody else wants. Time to be me.
